2016 Civic Elections: Candidate Information and Nomination Period
MOOSE JAW - Election Day for the 2016 Municipal and School Board elections is Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
The 2016 Moose Jaw Civic Elections will include the election of municipal officials for one (1) Mayor and six (6) Councillors, and five (5) Public and four (4) Catholic school board trustees.
Individuals considering running for Mayor, City Councillor, or as a Trustee for the Prairie South and Holy Trinity School Divisions, are encouraged to visit the City of Moose Jaw website to find out more about the process of becoming a candidate and all details related to candidacy and the municipal elections process.

Nomination forms may also be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office located on the Second Floor, City Hall. Nomination forms for the Public School Board are also available from the Prairie South School Division No.210, 1075-9th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK and the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 22, 502-6th Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK. School board nomination forms will also be received at these offices.
Municipal nomination forms will be received by the Returning Officer at the Office of the City Clerk/Solicitor, Second Floor, City Hall, Moose Jaw, during the following dates and times:
Tuesday, September 6, 2016 -Tuesday, September 20, 2016
8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, September 21, 8:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
(With the exception of Saturday and Sunday)
The nomination form for mayor and councillor candidates must be accompanied by a deposit of $100.00 in cash, certified cheque or money order, payable to The City of Moose Jaw. The deposit will be returned to candidates following the election who have fully complied with the Act, Regulations and Bylaw No. 5442 – Election Campaign Disclosure and Spending Limits Bylaw.
