City of Moose Jaw Preparing for 2016 Municipal Election
MOOSE JAW - The City of Moose Jaw officially launched its online presence for the 2016 Election today. Candidate information manuals and nomination packages are now available online at www.moosejaw.ca and at City Hall, 2nd floor – Clerk’s office.
“We have made some changes to how election information is made available to candidates and the general public. Documents are now available online and we will also be publishing nomination forms and candidate bio information online as they are submitted to City Hall. Voters are encouraged to check the City’s website regularly for this info to become informed of the candidate selection for the mayoral and councillor elections,” commented Myron Gulka-Tiechko, Returning Officer & City Clerk/Solicitor.
All municipal elections – including school board elections – will be held on October 26, 2016 at various polls throughout the City. In addition, City Council has approved free transit services for voters on election day to encourage voting. Another change is that advance polls will be open to anyone who may not be available to vote on election day.
Election information will be posted on the City’s website and delivered to homes throughout the election period. www.moosejaw.ca. Links to school board election information will also be posted on the City’s website when available.

2016 Municipal Elections
The City of Moose Jaw, the Prairie South School Division No. 210 and the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 22 will be holding their respective elections on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
The municipal general election includes races for the positions of Mayor and members of City Council. The school board general elections are for trustees of the Public and Separate School Boards.
In Saskatchewan, municipal and school board elections are governed by The Local Government Election Act, 2015.
