Fairford Street Feeder Line Project Update
MOOSE JAW - In an effort to reduce the number of water main breaks occurring this winter on Fairford Street, the Engineering department began work to decommission a section of old feeder line in that area last Saturday.
City crews and managers worked over the weekend to ensure residents had water restored as soon as possible. Properties from 1st to 3rd Avenues NE were affected and the system was repressurized overnight on Saturday and fully restored by early Sunday.
Notices were delivered to affected property owners in advance of this planned work.
“Our crews worked hard over the weekend to ensure that water service was reinstated to residents in the area as soon as possible,” commented Darrin Stephanson, Municipal Operations Manager. “There have been a number of leaks over the summer in this area and it has been identified as a high priority area to fix, helping to prevent future leaks.”
Additional water disruptions will affect properties from 1st and 3rd Avenues, including Rosewood Estates during the day tomorrow. Affected property owners will be notified today.
This project will be in progress for most of October as the work continues down Fairford Street.
The Engineering department is committed to rebuilding our infrastructure to ensure a more reliable, stable water service.
