Moose Jaw Community Brand Visual Identity Standards Place Branding Issues Power Point presentation launching Moose Jaw's Community Branding
A brand is a collection of experiences and associations connected with a service, a person or any other entity. Brands have become increasingly important components of culture and the economy, now being described as "cultural accessories and personal philosophies". Some people distinguish the psychological aspect of a brand from the experiential aspect. The experiential aspect consists of the sum of all points of contact with the brand and is known as the brand experience. The psychological aspect, sometimes referred to as the brand image, is a symbolic construct created within the minds of people and consists of all the information and expectations associated with a product or service. The City of Moose Jaw is embarking on the process of re-branding itself in a new and positive way. The new brand is based on a recent study revealing that the city enjoys a number of social and economic advantages, but is challenged by local misconceptions. The study aimed to develop Moose Jaw’s community marketing brand for businesses, visitors, and residents. Commissioned by Moose Jaw Regional Economic Development Authority (MJREDA) under the name Brand Moose Jaw, the study involved a number of partners including: the City of Moose Jaw, Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Moose Jaw, and Moose Jaw Regional Economic Development Authority. North Star Destination Strategies and The Noblet Design Group, of Regina, were charged with the research, strategy, and creative segments of the process. The comprehensive study relied on more than a dozen research approaches to identify what differentiates Moose Jaw from other areas in the province and nation. The process consulted residents, local economic and cultural stakeholders and visitors, and looked at Moose Jaw’s competitive posture with other regional cities. It then contrasted economic and cultural realities with local opinion and perceptions to determine a new and more relevant brand for the community. Back to the top Back to Home Page |
