Holiday Greeting from the Mayor of Moose Jaw
As we move into this joyful holiday season, we take time to reflect on the past year. 2016 in Moose Jaw has certainly been an eventful one with new economic developments, a new council, special events and more to come. Our community has drawn together even closer this year and we have accomplished more than ever before.
In one of my favourite all-time Christmas movies – It’s a Wonderful Life – a main character, George Bailey, gives up his dreams to help others – a true demonstration of selflessness. Remember that the greatest gift we could exchange during this season and in the coming year is to serve one another.
Specifically, I ask you all to remember your neighbours at this time of year, especially the elderly and those who live alone. My very best wishes go to those who are sick at home or in the hospital this Christmas and I wish you a speedy recovery.
As we celebrate this holiday season, my wish for you is that you spend more time together with family and friends. Use the time together to reflect on the blessings this past year has brought you. I would also like to extend a special “welcome home” to all who are visiting Moose Jaw – students, children and parents, friends and extended family – I sincerely hope you enjoy your time back home and make some new memories.
From my family, City Council and our dedicated City staff, we wish your family all the love and blessings of the season. We look forward to working together to accomplish even more in 2017.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
