City Council has approved the implementation of an automated garbage collection system to be phased in throughout the city. This system has many enhancements allowing garbage to be more convenient for residents while improving the appearance of neighborhoods (less litter) on collection day.

Automated collection will improve working conditions for City Sanitation Workers by drastically reducing work related injuries.

With this new service, residents will be issued a 96-gallon cart for bagged trash. Only the City-issued carts can only be used with this new system; therefore, any trash placed outside the designated cart will not be collected. If you are an existing rear lane customer you will continue to be a rear lane customer.

We have included three video's which shows how automated garbage pickup is done.
