The City of Moose Jaw Beautification Awards has been held since 1981. They are important to our city because they promote healthy competition, they recognize efforts of gardeners to beautify our city and they also encourage people to get out in their back yards and garden. Probably most important, by beautifying their properties, residents encourage tourism and encourage others to do the same.
To encourage everyone to participate in our beautification awards, past winners are not eligible for awards.
It's time to recognize Moose Jaw's outstanding properties for 2010. We need your help in finding Moose Jaw's most beautiful properties.
The Beautification Awards categories for 2010 are:
Best Restoration/Rejuvenation or Renovation: to recognize older properties where the landscape has been dramatically improved.
Best Planters and/or Balcony (residential recognition): to apartment dwellers and people with limited space who still manage to enhance the City's green spaces.
Best Commercial Frontage Display: to recognize plantings and baskets done by commercial businesses with small frontages such as downtown, mall, etc.
Best Commercial Property: to recognize the best overall beautification of a business property.
Best Xeriscaping: for an attractive landscape that best employs the principals of water conservation.
Best Residential Property: for an outstanding and attractive property from front curb to the back lane.
