Mayor Glenn Hagel previously served Moose Jaw as an MLA from 1986 to 2007, having served as Speaker of the House, Cabinet Minister and Chair of Saskatchewan’s Centennial 2005 Celebration.
Mayor Hagel sees Moose Jaw as a healthy city with a healthy future. His top priorities for this term are economic development and improved access to affordable housing. He sees working in the spirit of partnership as the key to success in both areas as well as with the Saskatchewan Government to complete the Union Hospital upgrade.
Mayor Hagel looks forward to the benefits for Moose Jaw people from the future downtown convention centre and arena and the new field house constructed this term.
Mayor Hagel and his wife Karen have resided in Moose Jaw since 1973. They are very proud of their two daughters, Kristin and Meredith, who grew up in Moose Jaw.
Councillor Dawn Luhning
is pleased and honoured to have been chosen to represent your interests at the municipal table. This is her third term on City Council and Dawn will continue to be fiscally responsible and pledges to listen to your concerns in order to find ways to make Moose Jaw grow and thrive, for individuals and businesses. She and her partner David Danchilla are very proud to call Moose Jaw, home.
Dawn is an Insurance Advisor with 16 years experience in the financial industry. She is an avid runner and sports enthusiast who believes in the health of her community and organizes the annual Moose Jawg Charity Road Race on Canada Day. 2010 will be the Moose Jawg’s 9th year and its participants have raised over $30000 for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation.
Dawn believes she has a comprehensive understanding of how each individual decision affects Moose Jaw’s future. She also believes municipalities should be more prudent in recognizing their responsibilities to the taxpayers.
