The Engineering Department plows streets on a priority basis. Streets are Priority 1 or Priority 2, and are plowed in that order. Most residential streets are not included in these priorities, but if they are exceptionally bad, they will be addressed.
Under provisions of the Snow Removal Bylaw No. 4331:
- Heavy snow must be removed from City sidewalks in all business zones and other specified areas of the City, forty-eight (48) hours after the fall thereof has ceased
- It is illegal to deposit snow and/or ice from private property i.e. private driveways, service station lots, or parking lots, onto any city street or land.
