The City of Moose Jaw’s Sewage Collection Treatment and Disposal System is well maintained and operated.
The City of Moose Jaw sanitary sewer system consists of a network of buried pipe, manholes and lift stations. There are approximately 176 km of underground sewage collection infrastructure of varying ages. The composition of this infrastructure varies based on the year of installation but is largely comprised of Vitrified Clay Tile (VCT), Asbestos Cement or PVC. In lesser amounts, tar and paper (no-corrode), concrete, cast iron and steel pipes have been used. The City has three (3) main trunk sewers including the West Industrial (or Downtown), South Hill and North Hill Trunk Mains. The system collects and pumps sewer to Crescent View Lift Station through 14 lift stations, where it is then pumped to the city’s Wastewater Treatment Facility.
