Human Resource Services provides personnel services to all City departments and staff. These core services include:

- Human Resource Policy Development
- Long-Term Disability Claims Management
- Employee Recognition and Service Awards
Occupational Health and Safety
Working out of the Human Resources Department, the Safety Officer provides resources, guidance and advice in matters pertaining to health and safety for all employees within the corporate structure and all Occupational Health and Safety Committees. Safety includes a focus on leadership and communication, workplace hazard assessment and prevention initiatives, health and safety related training, work observations, safety inspections and incident investigations.
The Safety Officer is also responsible for processing all workers’ compensation claims and provides support for employees, supervisors and managers in the City’s Return to Work and Workplace Accommodation Program.
