Moose Jaw Multicultural Council (MJMC) and Newcomer Welcome Centre (NWC)
The MJMC is an important resource for all immigrants and newcomers.
The Moose Jaw Multicultural Council welcomes newcomers to Canada, helps them become part of the community, and helps them make friends with Canadians. MJMC knows about the differences among many cultures and helps overcome problems that come up because of them. It celebrates our differences. The Council tries to develop and encourage the common hopes and values that people share.
The MJMC has been settling Newcomers to Canada since 1989. It offers a full range of settlement information, language, employment, and childcare services for newcomers to Canada who have made their home in or near Moose Jaw.
The Council also acts as an “umbrella” organization for cultural groups in Moose Jaw. MJMC deals mostly with persons who are Permanent Residents.

MJMC’s Newcomer Welcome Centre is there to help you find the resources (such as information, support, services, and people), you need to make your move to Moose Jaw a success. The NWC deals mostly with new immigrants who are in Canada on temporary permits for work or school, but all newcomers are welcome.
The Centre can advise you on whether you qualify for a language assessment and tell you about options available for improving your English.
Although no appointment is necessary, it is best if you phone before visiting the Centre.
